Todays entry has nothing to do with papercrafts, but I do have another love and that is art. My daughter and I have been taking art classes since last September. We started off with sketching, then acrylic paint and this last piece I did, which is a study of Lawren Harris is done in oils. This one took me ages to do and if you look closely will see there is quite a bit of work done with a palette knife. I have a few other pictures I will post soon, but I am pretty proud of this effort. Next year I start painting from my own photos so they will then be original, instead of studies.

Fabulous artwork. Have never tried oils, not enough patience in the long dry time....lol
ReplyDeleteI love this painting, Michele! Such a serene landscape. My mother and sister both painted and now they are both gone. Since I inherited their paints, easels and other supplies, I feel compelled to try my hand at it but I can't afford lessons right now and I'm not sure an attempt without them would be a worthwhile endeavor. I can't tell that you have only been painting a few months! You definitely have a talent for it. Thanks for sharing this piece with your readers.
