This is my entry for Bird in A tree Challenge for Artchix.  This is a sketch I did using coloured pencils.  The picture is a study of a bird in a book from London.  Unfortunately it does not tell me the kind of bird it is

GC88 Coffee and Cream Challenge

This is my entry for the coffee and cream challenge on Gingersnaps.  Started with a blank card and covered with tissue paper in coffee and cream colours.  The stamps are Stampin Up and the coffee cup was cut from a printed tissue paper.  All my images I distressed.  Embellishments are some things I had lying around as well as Artchix

Hi everybody

So it has taken me an hour to figure out how to get pictures on my blog, but finally there are a couple up of my very first attempts.  The one is a kit I did and the houses were a challenge on Artchix.  I have also done 6 ATC for a valentines challenge which I will take pictures of and post soon.
Today |I spent my entire day cleaning and rearranging my art room, so that I will be able to work more efficiently.  I was inspired by some pictures I have seen of other peoples work space.  So organised.  Hopefully now I can work better and be way more inspired.  Talk to you all later

New Blogger

I am completely new at blogging.  Please be patient with my ramblings and I will only be posting once a week.  So here goes.  I am a mother of 3.  They are 11, 21, 24, so the are all older and although the 11 year old keeps me very busy with her dance schedule and school I do find I have more time for doing art.  I am doing painting classes and the medium I am using is acrylic.  I will be trying oils next.  I started with pencil sketching and I must say I love it all.  Then I found mixed media, oh what heaven.  I can use all my supplies from previous crafting and my new skills with art and make fun.  I also discovered ATC, again amazing.  I am doing my first ones for my first swap and I am so excited.  I have never done journaling before so I am starting this as well.  What fun all this is.  I have not felt so motivated in a long time.  I will keep you updated with my attempts and hopefully this blog will grow with my artwork
