CAS Challenge no CAS0522

The challenge this week was to do a one layer card.  This one could not be more simple.  Stippled the card with silver and then stamped the bird and the greeting an embossed them with gold.  Added the flowers and it was done!

GC101 - Cowboy and Cowgirl Challenge

Had no real cowboy images so I had to improvise.  Stamped the little girl using a stamp from Little Paper Shop.  Painted with watercolour pencils.  I had these stickers which I decided to use to dress her.  Used chalks to do the background and pricked a border to finish it off

Gingersnaps Challenge GC99 - Fans

Paper with Japanese symbols I printed from Graphic Fairy.  The fan I got from Michaels and the Japanese lady from a calendar I received as a gift in 2002

CAS Sunday Challenges

This is my entry.  I used the kraft and the flower in one.  The flower is stamped and punched with Stampin Up.  The pearls are also from Stampin Up.

Altered art, my first attempt

My inspiration came from Carrie on Crafting who did a mannequin and then I saw an article in Somerset Studio done by Karen Valentine that I just loved.  So I started by covering the mannequin with tiny squares of two different papers and then distressing with Walnut stain.  Then I used this wire mesh to make a skirt and hat.  The frame is actually 2 canvasses with the one cutout.  Family pictures from Retro Cafe Art Gallery.  Frames are from Artchix which I also distressed with Walnut Stain and Rusty Hinge.  Bird and cat are from Artchix.  The cat I embossed with black powder and then I embossed a gold collar and attached a charm.  The key I embossed with gold embossing powder and then used Alcohol Ink - Haselnut to make it look older.
Hope you like my effort and I am going to enter this in a challenge on Simon says Stamp, Everything goes.
This cat is an image from Artchix which I embossed with black embossing powder and then embossed the collar and attach a small moon to it

Very busy, just putting up some of the work I have been doing

Hi everybody, I have been very busy crafting, but not getting to my blog like I should.  I have posted a few bookmarks that I have made for a swap on Gingersnaps.  I love doing all these different kinds of art.  Making me really think.  It also challenges me to use different techniques.  At the moment my stocks are not that big.  Only been buying stamps for a few months, and even using all the downloads is new for me.  So I have had to figure out how to use what I have, instead of running out and buying new things.  Really fun!  I love being able to see what other people are doing, and am in awe of their work.  Everyday I learn something new, and if I even inspire one person, then learning all about blogging and downloads and uploading pictures is worth it.  Well enough rambling, thanks to everybody out there.

This last week

This last week was crazy so I did not get much crafting done.  It was payroll at work and also month end payables.  This weekend I did decide to do some scrapbooking.  And this afternoon I had a reptile party so did not craft today.  Hopefully this next week will be more productive.  I have put up some pictures which I hope you will enjoy.  Have a good week!!
Finally these are two of four closets in the room.  The are all full.  The first one is full of papercrafting supplies, the second is full of my painting supplies, the third sewing and the fourth general craft supplies.  Crazy.  But fun
This table holds my cricut but is also there if my daughter wants to craft with me.  Extra space is always needed!!
I thought I would post a few pictures of my craft room, after I had tidied up.  This is the main work area.  My husband just put the shelves up for me.
The last page is one of my son who did a community theatre play a couple of years ago.  He was in Grease, he has done a few others but I liked these action pictures.

Red and Gold Page

This is a page of my older daughter.  She had just had her hair done before going to Cuba for a holiday.  She teaches drama, hence the word `Dramatic`  The image is one of Graphic 45 papers.
I am going to enter this page for a red and gold challenge on Gingersnap Creations

I did some scrapbooking this weekend.  Not something I do very often, I normally leave that to my mom.  This is a page of my youngest daughter, an action picture of her doing her solo.  I used my distress inks to do the swirl and I used my cricut for the writing and the oval.
