Fatbook pages for Artchix Sister Site

I had so much fun doing this.  The image is from Artchix Studio, as is the word Believe.  The flower is from my stash.  I have weaved jewellery wire around the outside edge of the page.

The colours for these pages was Brown, Blue and Orange.  The music notes behind the baby is from Artchix Studio as is the hat on his head.  The words are cut from the paper I used in the previous piece. The baby is a image from Retro Cafe.  The wheel I bought at Michaels.  I have decoupaged the entire card and to finish it off have used bakers twine.
This one I also started off by decoupaging the page.  The head is a Artchix Image as is the wins.  The body is a sheet of paper called district45 from websters pages.  The shoes are from my stash as are the buttons.  The stamp is from Stampin up and the rubon from my stash. A little stickles to add some bling.

Enjoy

Part two of my birthday invitations

So a few weeks ago I had an entry showing you all the invitations I made for my daughters 25th birthday party.  I then started making party favours for her guests.  I made 30 of these cute purses using my cricut and the Forever Young Cartridge.  I embossed them using my Cuttlebug.  The hearts I cut out with a punch and the figures were cut out using my Cuttlebug again.  I tied them to the handles of the purses using embroidery floss.  Inside the purses will be the chocolates with the Thanks tag on it.  I used stamps from Stampin up and then cut each one out.  The bows on the chocolates are again made using embroidery floss.

A close up  of the purses.  I hope all her guests have a wonderful party and enjoy their party favours.

Enjoy

Under the sea

Hi everybody

This a ATC I did for a challenge on Artchix-Sister Site.  I have never done this one before, but it was under the sea, so using mermaids, seahorses etc.  The tail is one from Artchix as is the word ART.
The head and body was actually a fairy stamp which I cut is half and then coloured using pencils and thinners.
The lace and trim is just from cutoffs I had left.  Buttons are bubbles.
Rubons for the edge.  The fish I made using jewellery wire.

I hope you all like it

Alter it Monthly - Dolls

Something different again.  On the site we had to use dolls in our art work.  This tiny head use to belong to a doll pick for cake decorating.  I cut all her hair off and then covered the entire head in newsprint.  I then decided to make her into a brooch.

I took jewellery wire and wrapped it around the head they way you would a bead.  I then attached a short piece of chain and this I attached to a safety pin.  To pretty her up a little I used two pieces of ribbon to make a bow.

I hope you enjoy this weird piece of art.

Check out some of the other art at http://alteritmonthly.blogspot.com/

Thanks for looking

Simon Says Stamp and Show - Anything goes

So I finally can post something again.  This is a head I completed a little while ago and have been waiting to show it off.  Started off as a styrofoam head, which I covered in strips of news print.  I then used distress inks to distress it.  You can see she has a huge earring which was actually a brooch my girl friend found at a thrift store.  She also has real "false" eyelashes that I wore to a Halloween Party one year.

This is a side view.  I had butterfly stickers which I used on her cheek.  The lace that I used on her head was just some old lace I had.  The feathers I also bought at a dollar store long ago and thought it would give her a Gatsby feel.

Her choker around her neck I crocheted using jewellery wire.  I could have maybe made it a little thicker so it stood out a bit more.  Next time I will remember to do this!

The flower I used I cut with my cricut, distressed them and layered them together.  The centre piece was a ready made flower I had lying around.

Well that is it.  She just needs a name if anybody has any ideas.  Hope you enjoy it.

Hoping to get some things posted this week.

I would like to start off  by apologizing for being so quiet.  I went to Yorkton, Saskatchewan, last week to visit my oldest daughter.  I found the week really exhausting.  Very stressful.  It was hot, the drive was long, we were trying to paint her house, and eventually got on each others nerves.  On the drive back I drove off the road into a ditch, luckily nobody was hurt, the car was not damaged, but apparently I was more exhausted than I realized and nodded off.  Needless to say I limped home having to stop every now and then to take in some fresh air.  I was the only driver in the car, with my mom and younger daughter as passengers.  The drive takes about 10 hours.  Got home safely and my son immediately took my car out.  He does not have his own car so uses mine.  We got home on Friday, my son was leaving for college in Victoria, BC on Sunday so we were having some people over to wish him well.  I asked him to go and pick up some snacks, and get gas in the car.  A hour after he left I got a call from him, telling us that he had crashed the car. He was fine but my car was a write off.   Now you don't know much about me and my own, but this car I got in April, a beautiful red Toyota Rav.  I loved it.  Also two months ago he side swiped a vehicle and one entire panel had to be replaced.  I think this card was not destined to be mine.  This is a brand new car, out of the box.  So I have no car.  We had to use my husbands car to drive Kyle up to Calgary for his flight to Victoria.  We also had to get his last supplies.  He has arrived safely in Victoria and is very excited about his new life.  Meanwhile I am tired, depressed and hoping things will go a little better in the coming weeks.

So that is my little pity party.  I have been lurking around seeing what all my blog friends have been doing, also all the posts about CHA,   that looked like loads of fun.

Hope to have something to post soon, as soon as I catch up on all the challenges.

Thank you

Gingersnap Creations GC107

Hi everybody, I would like to welcome my new followers.  Thank you for joining me. My blog has been weird this last week and I have not been able to follow or see my followers without loads of issues.  I have been really quiet this week and have not really done any challenges.  I am in holiday mode and my daughter and I have been doing more mixed media art, I will try and post a few pictures of what we have been doing.  I am also going away next week with my family so it will be awhile before I get things going again.  This bag and tag was made for a challenge on Gingersnap Creations.  I loved making this.  The papers are from a stack I got at Winners.  Did some distressing added some buttons that I coloured myself using alchol inks, finally the flowers are flowers I made myself.  Found a tutorial while hopping around the net.  Have no idea whose it was but I loved making them.

Hope you enjoy this and I hope everybody is having a wonderful summer holiday.

Nothing to do with Paper Crafts

Hello everybody, as some of you know I have another hobby and that is Reptiles.  This is the second year that we are asked to be part of the Canada Day festivities in our city.  I thought I would share some pictures of our day.  The picture above is of a girl who really was not sure if she wanted to touch Joey.  She eventually overcame her fear and gave him a very quick poke.

Here she is still a little wary.

We were there for 9 hours.  It was crazy busy and we had a line up the entire day.  Needless to say we were exhausted at the end of the day.  We had loads of fun though.

I even roped in my husband to help this year.  His job was to keep our wash station going and also to look after our turtle that was swimming in the tub.  He was a wonderful help, and I do not think Storm and I could have done it without him.

I hope you enjoy my pictures.  Happy July 4 to all my American Friends.
